ISIS and PG.99 represses & shirts, new NADJA shirt + FLOOR discography discount, a bat PEEING in TILTS/TORCHE guitarist's EYE +lotsa new distro items!

This diverse update first sees us with two influential bands' catalog items back in print, with vinyl from ISIS and PG.99 getting the re-press treatment. Although the sonic differences are significant, each group created a lasting legacy that still holds long after their disbanding.

ISIS' landmark albums Oceanic and Panopticon are both back in action on the 2xLP format, each with "reverse board" printing throughout (Oceanic getting the massive "tip-on" style jackets, and Panopticon printed via reverse-board for the very first time). The band requested simple black-vinyl for the entire pressing and after a smattering of variations over the years, this keeps things nice and simple.

PAGENINETYNINE reunited last year for a couple of well received and emotionally cathartic live performances. To celebrate, we issued their long out-of-print collections CD, Singles, on the overdue vinyl format. The entire pressing sold out, so a shorter run of 250 more on black vinyl have just been pressed to fill the remaining silkscreened jackets we had kicking around. In classic makeshift fashion, some copies come with the proper "printed innersleeve" that houses the vinyl, and some copies come with a xerox insert of the same artwork instead. Keeping it DIY to keep it in print!

Related, we also recently re-printed two classic PG.99 t-shirt designs. Most sizes are still available, although before even announcing their availability they started heading right back out our doors.

Again sonically different but equally recommended, in celebration of TORCHE's magnanimous new album Harmonicraft coming out later this month, we've decided to discount the closely-related FLOOR discography 8xCD set, Below & Beyond. Everything this seminal sludge-turned-pop outfit ever recorded is contained within this massive collection, and with the deluxe vinyl edition now sold out, this 8xCD release is the only (physical) way to own the monstrous amount of material these geniuii churned out.

The price is tightnice too, as if you enter the "FLOORTWENTY" coupon code at checkout, the price drop to, ahem, $20. Pretty galldarn good for 8 stacked CDs, a bigass 12"x12" 32(!)-page booklet and a custom gatefold jacket holding it all together. BONUS SCHWAG: coupon-code enterers also get a free FLOOR 8xButton set as well, depicting all the album covers from the discography. If you've slacked on this crucial mega-release thus far, hit that up with the quickness as the discount+hookup only goes through the end of this month.

FLOOR also has three live gigs on deck in the coming months as well. If you're on the US East Coast, or in England... don't miss em!

We also have a fantastic and enveloping new t-shirt design from our favorite prolific doom-couple, NADJA! The Berlin-via-Canada duo have teamed up with Berlin-via-Sweden tattoo artist HLG for this brilliant new shirt. Simple but stark, black ink printed on grey supersoft "Next Level" brand t-shirts. Need a new favorite shirt? Seek ye no further! This really is nice...

AND last but most likely not least, some crazy mainstream news activity has been surrounding TILTS guitarist/vocalist (and TORCHE guitarist) Andrew Elstner's recent run in with a rogue bat. A viral press bonanza has stemmed from a freak accident where a bat PISSED IN ANDREW'S EYE and things snowballed from there. There was a rabies scare, freaked out friends/family and subsequent emergency treatment... all detailed on MSNBC, MTV, BUZZFEED, PITCHFORK and more. This is too absurd not to share (you can't make this kinda stuff up!)... so have at it if you've been under a rock:

Also significant: TILTS' infectious vinyl debut dropped about a month back and has sold swiftly (we've got roughly 50 copies left in house). You can get this unlucky man's gloriously catchy music direct from us:

NPR streaming PG.99 and THOU live audio!

PG.99 and THOU both played Washington, DC this past weekend... DURING the middle of hurricane Irene! NPR was awesomely on hand and recorded the show!

* PG.99 streaming audio @ NPR
* THOU streaming audio @ NPR

A true road warrior named Alec travelled from Maine(!) for the event too, and took some gnarly close-up footage of the bands as well. More to surface, but here's THOU covering NIRVANA (at the 2minute mark):

Last related news for now: longtime likeminded weirdo Ryan Hex is still going strong with his Hex Records / Hanging Like a Hex thing... stoked he's still writing righteous reviews after all these years. Anyway, he just dropped some science on THOU's new The Archer & The Owle megeEP including this tasty tidbit:

"Thou keeps their massive sludge experiments interesting, rocking, and most of all, heavy as Marty McFly's opinion of time travel. It's like Eyehategod with extra brains and just as much spite, and some cool, twisted melody to top it all off. They probably gave this away for free online already anyway, but the vinyl looks pretty cool and I think they even made a run of cassettes for this release if you're into 80's technology."

* Read the whole thing here, its great and there's plenty of other well written reviews too. No universal praise either, dawg keeps it real!

Beyond that, we're steadily selling the new releases (and reiusse) from both bands, so check em out if you haven't already:

PG.99 reunion show footage and photos

(photo by Marc Gaertner, more here)
PG.99's Best Friends Day performance has come and gone, and its probably safe to say that a unanimous good time was had by all! Thanks to Curtis and Tony (and everyone else) responsible for helping this happen, and fingers crossed the DC show this weekend is just as fun! For those who missed this awesome video, it was the first one posted and seems to be the best thus far:

<3

UPDATE - more footage: Rough audio and sorta shakey footage, but awesome shot of Mike Taylor jumping into the crowd (with guitar) at 3:25... and then Chris at around the 6min mark:

Plus, another round of solid photos (by Chris Boarts Larson) from Friday's reunion show in RVA can be found over at Brooklyn Vegan.

New releases from PG.99 and THOU + shirt and vinyl sales, new items and more!!

Sometimes it can be difficult to write about dudes you've spent important formative years with, witnessing them grow from teenage punx into skilled musicians and incredible songwriters. Our longtime brothers from Sterling, Virginia are just that though... so with a nostalgic heart we present the latest Robotic Empire update.

PG.99 is the first band we ever did a release with, back in the very beginning Robodog days at the end of the last century. Its pretty crazy that over 12 years later, here we are again still talking about the same band... but they seemed incredible to us back then and still remain so today. From their first demo material to the final recordings five years later, it was amazing to watch this band evolve into the formidable force they became. Its appropriate then that Robotic Empire presents the long-overdue vinyl issuing of PAGENINETYNINE's Singles collection album.

Eighteen tracks spanning their existence have been pressed into one stellar LP. Originally released on CD by (the now-defunct?) Reptilian Records, this collection compiles PG.99's widespread non-album material. It includes the stuff from their splits with CIRCLE TAKES THE SQUARE, CITY OF CATERPILLAR, ENEMY SOIL, PROCESS IS DEAD and REACTOR NO. 7 along with other short-run compilation, EP and demo tracks.

Most PAGENINETYNINE fans have a favorite album, but in some ways Singles may be a better overall representation of the band. Each of their three full-lengths (and split longplayer with MAJORITY RULE) are excellent individual documents in their progression, but Singles manages to show it all: their humble beginnings to furious midpoint and experimental end. From the original demo tape to final split EP release, the wild ride of PG.99's various creations are clearly displayed on Singles, showing a band that evolved more in their prolific five years than one could really deem reasonable.

Finely mastered by James Plotkin for a much warmer and fuller sound not heard on the original releases, this 12" has been packaged in a printed innersleeve (with an excellent eulogy by JR Hayes of PIG DESTROYER) and a silk-screened fold-over cover (printed by Broken Press, ala document #8 - click here for a bigger version of the above photospread). 1000 copies have been pressed: 200 on green, 200 on blue and 600 on black vinyl.

** THIS IS TECHNICALLY A PRE-ORDER as it officially has an August 2nd "street date", although we've been given the go-ahead to start shipping out pre-orders within a week or two from now. However, everything for this release is now finished and in house already.. so you can order this NOW in the Robotic Empire - Online Store and we will ship out all orders as promptly as possible! **

Closely related is the latest pressing of PG.99's landmark document #8 album. Considered by many to be their definitive album, its easily the one with the most vision. Originally recorded throughout one hectic weekend in the winter of 2001, document #8 was re-mixed a few years later by band members and engineer Kurt Ballou. Since this recording those guys have forged a relationship that continues throughout each PYGMY LUSH recording (also accomplished at Kurt's Godcity studios) and the results speak for themselves. Blistering songs dripping with spirit and passion, document #8 is arguably PG.99's magnum opus. Also housed in a silkscreen jacket, this one comes with a large 16-page booklet of lyrics/artwork/photos/etc (click here for a bigger version of the above photospread). 1000 more copies of this LP have been pressed: 200 on red, 200 on white and 600 on black vinyl.

Both of these releases are timed to correspond with PAGENINETYNINE's reunion at this year's Best Friends Day festival in Richmond, Virginia. Friday, August 19th will see them play alongside CONVERGE, STRIKE ANYWHERE, CAPSULE and more at the Canal Club in RVA. Their plan is to perform the document #8 album in full, along with other material spanning their history. Its definitely not something to miss, as PG.99 hasn't played live in over eight years. More information on the (massively fun) Best Friends Day event can be found here: http://www.bestfriendsdayrva.com

In a new addition to the Best Friends Day performance, PAGENINETYNINE will also play a bit closer to home at the Black Cat in Washington, DC the following weekend on Saturday, August 27th. Appropriately, THOU will be opening up that show... PG.99 + THOU for $10 = pretty hard to beat! More info on that over at the Black Cat website.

Both of those LPs, along with some celebratory-discounted PG.99 t-shirts (and the many members' other bands' records) can be found in the Robotic Empire - Online Store.

Related in core fundamentals is a lengthy new release from Louisiana's THOU. Longtime friends of the aforementioned Virginians, THOU is cut from a very similar cloth wherein a DIY mentality is the backbone to extreme(ly) heavy music. The sonic results may vary from PG.99, but THOU's rock-solid work ethic, relentless touring and absurdly prolific release schedule now rivals (and possibly exceeds) their Sterling, VA contemporaries. Its also been a great pleasure to work with these maniacs in the past, thus we're honored to present their new 12" to you today.

Recorded throughout the turn of the decade, THOU deliver another potent 40 minutes of triumphant doom-laden sludge fury on The Archer & The Owle. Atypical heavyness to say the least, the ultra-crushing sound THOU has become known for is subtly enhanced by unique elements ala piano, atmospheric noise, horns, double bass and several re-envisioned cover songs for keen ears to decipher. Along with otherwise unreleased Summit-era material, this lengthy "megaEP" also (appropriately) contains THOU's original half of the now postponed co-release with PYGMY LUSH, oddly inspiring the band to then cover two tracks by their collaborators' latest work.

Its all spice added to the overall stunning effect of a truly visionary band; intelligent commentary atop six massive tracks of absolutely bludgeoning music. Presented on color vinyl housed in a beautiful spot-glossed "tip-on" classic style heavyweight gatefold LP jacket, this is yet another brick in THOU's ever-strengthening wall of spite and menace. All mailorder copies of The Archer & The Owle vinyl include a canvas patch exclusive to the label and band copies. 2000 copies of this "megaEP" have been pressed: 500 on opaque gray (mailorder/band only) and 1500 on translucent clear. This and much of THOU's vast back-catalog (plus a few t-shirt designs) can be found now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store.

** As above with PG.99's Singles 12", THIS IS TECHNICALLY A PRE-ORDER as it officially has an August 2nd "street date", although we've been given the go-ahead to start shipping out pre-orders within a week or two from now. However, everything for this release is en route to us... so you can order this NOW in the Robotic Empire - Online Store and we will ship out all orders as promptly as possible! **

In addition to the vinyl version of this behemoth, we've teamed up with our brothers at Sweat Lodge Guru (who are also responsible for the awesome OMGvinyl) to unleash the cassette version of this "megaEP".

300 copies of the pro-tape version have been made, which comes in an unreal two-color letterpress double-sided, mulit-panel j-card (click here for a bigger version of the above photospread). Pretty darn impressive for 6 bucks, this is available NOW in the Robotic Empire - Online Store as well as from Sweat Lodge Guru.

In addition to these new releases (and re-press) we've got a fairly significant RoboSale going on at the moment. Hot on the heels of our insane "fire sale" discounts throughout May and June, we're now offering a slew of Robotic Empire released vinyl and t-shirts at some stupid discounts... only until the end of July though. The vinyl is a widespread slew of Robo (and related) releases, and the shirts are mostly discounted in related celebration of PG.99's burst of activity! Here's the list:

All of the above discounted stuff can be found now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store. This is all in an effort to clear some space, as along with the new releases above we also recently re-pressed some essential TORCHE albums (highlighted in the last update). What this all amounts to is a real premium for space at the lil' ol' RoboHQ so thus, the sales continue. However, this is likely to be our last large-scale discounting for a while, but nonetheless there's some good deals to be had. Along with the above items, over 275+ others have various sales attached to them as well.

Beyond all the new Robo label activity, we've actually gotten in very few new stuff/restocks lately (for a change), only a couple items really... so we're posting those along with the last update's stuff.

pg.99 to reunite and perform "document #8" in its entirety!

Sterling, Virginia punk rock band pg.99 is returning for a live performance at this summer's Best Friends Day in Richmond, Virginia. Also known as pageninetynine, the influential group is reuniting after an 8 year absence of activity to perform their seminal album "document #8" in its entirety.

Taking place from August 18th to the 21st this year, Best Friends Day is an annual event that started as a single day and has evolved into a weekend-long festival based on taking a break from the stresses of the world to just hang out and have a good time with your friends. When asked why they are reuniting now, pg.99 guitarist Mike Taylor responded with:

"After a few reunion offers in recent months, it kind of just got us thinking that it would be fun to play those songs again, and if we were ever going to do it again, that now would be the time... We felt Richmond would be great place to do a reunion because of pg.99's early involvement with that area and its punk scene in the late nineties."

The Best Friends Day organizers are thrilled to have pageninetynine on the bill celebrating BFD's 10th year as an event, and are announcing them as the first band confirmed for the weekend: "When we initially started planning Best Friends Day 10, we wanted to have a killer band that could share this milestone year with us, and nothing hits home better than one of Virginia's best DIY bands ever," says organizer Curtis Grimstead. "I couldn't be more excited about having pg.99 reunite for Best Friends Day 10."

Formed in 1998, pageninetynine steadily gained notoriety as almost a cult of a band, with upwards of 8 people performing at the peak membership. With a menacing sound combining a wide variety of heavy/punk genres, pageninetynine was renown for their powerful and passionate live performances. In their five years of prolific activity they released 14 records and played over 300 live shows, earning them a formidable reputation and widespread dedicated following.

Since disbanding in 2003 the many members of pg.99 have gone on to form a slew of bands, including but not limited to Pygmy Lush, Ghastly City Sleep, Tideland, Malady and more. While active, the band released albums with Robotic Empire, Reptilian, Electric Human Project, The Perpetual Motion Macine, Magic Bullet, Witching Hour and many others.

ROBOTIC EMPIRE - Massive update! (New bands, Online Store stuff, etc!)

Hello again, it's been a while. A lot has happened at Robotic Empire over the past month or so... in fact, the label/mailorder is now split into two camps on opposite ends of the country. This massive move was a huge undertaking for us, but better for everyone in the end as it will mean a more organized setup for our Online Store operation (now located in Olympia, Washington), and some much needed change for the Virginia setup.

We want to thank everyone who ordered from us in any of our our pre-move sales, and also thank those who have been patient while we've gotten everything for the Online Store re-established out in Olympia. Things are fully operational again, and better than ever! So we are very pleased to present you a somewhat meaty update here, with lots of happenings both for the label and Online Store aspects of Robotic Empire...

First up, we're releasing some new records in June. It's been a slow first part of the year for the label (intentionally) but we've got a lot going on in the second half of the year. Kicking things off on June 9th will be the debut releases from New Zealand's DIAL and Louisville, Kentucky's BAD SECRETS.

DIAL is the first band from the southern hemisphere that we've ever worked with, and couldn't be much happier about this pairing. Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand... DIAL self-released a demo a couple of years ago that we recently got to hear on a trip to NZ last fall. Intensely powerful stuff is contained within this little five-song EP, so much that we asked the band if we could re-release and thankfully they agreed.

To quote our official hype sheet for this: "The material contained within is leaps and bounds beyond what most bands accomplish even at their best. DIAL successfully channels the darkest corners of the AmRep catalog, the raw ferocity of classic hardcore, offtime kilter of math-rock, and the whole concept that music can actually be dangerous. The air-tight composure of DIAL's debut recording is striking; focusing more on space and dissonance than technical shreddery. Obscenely heavy guitars collide with bludgeoning percussion and intense, vicious and scathing female vocals... turning the whole thing into a downright terrifying experience. Add an incredibly crisp recording, and this makes DIAL's debut EP one of the most impressive demos we've heard in years, let alone had the privilege to re-release."

We are really stoked about this release and it'll be available on CD and digitally come June 9th. To give you a little preview, we just posted a track from it on our myspace page:

* Listen to DIAL @ Robotic Empire's myspace
* Listen do DIAL @ their myspace page

Louisville, Kentucky's BAD SECRETS was born out of improv jam sessions between YOUNG WIDOWS' Evan Patterson and KODAN ARMADA's Dan Davis. They recorded three weekends of jamming together, whittled it down to seven songs and thus, their debut release is born. We went for the super conventional 9"+CD format for this one, since it's such a normal release and all. Hah!

In all seriousness though, we're really psyched to finally work with Mr. Patterson after knowing this righteous dude and his kin for years. Who knows, maybe we've got another release with him up our sleeves...

Until then, the self-titled debut 9"+CD from BAD SECRETS should hit the world on June 9th (if we can get the band to screen the covers in time) and we're very pumped on the ridiculous color vinyl we've got in store for it too. More info on this release forthcoming.

This is probably also a good time to announce that we'll be releasing the debut album from northern Virginia's TIDELAND! Mostly comprised of dudes we've known for years, upon hearing their killer full length that they recorded @ Godcity studios... deciding to release this was kind of a no-brainer. We'll be teaming up with our Italian brethren Sons Of Vesta to co-release this on both CD and 12", sometime later in the summer (most likely July or August).

We'll post up a track from this release sometime soon, but in the meantime several demos can be found on the band's myspace page. We should note: the album blows away everything they've recorded before.

* TIDELAND on myspace

Semi-related, TIDELAND will be playing the two upcoming MANNEQUIN reunion shows. Yep, our ol' brothers in grunge finally decided it was time to return to form! There's surely several reasons for this happening, one favorite being that Ian Widman wanted to drum for MANNEQUIN as his graduation present. We gotta give a hearty "congrats" to him for making this happen! If you live in Virginia (or anywhere relatively close) and want to check out these killer shows, they'll both be happening the weekend of May 9th/10th and the details for the shows can be found on TIDELAND's myspace page.

* An unmastered tour-only MANNEQUIN EP that had two released & two unreleased songs on it (and their name spelled wrong on the cover) can be found here: download "Yr Aching Tooth!!!"

Semi-related to that is that we've now got new t-shirts in our Online Store from both PYGMY LUSH and PG.99. Resurrecting the old "goth girl" design sourced from the PAGENINETYNINE / CITY OF CATERPILLAR split 7", we're psyched to have this one back in print. Along with that are two new designs from PYGMY LUSH, designed for their last tour. Totally classic, and available now in our Online Store.

Completely unrelated to everything above but equally exciting to us is the re-press of the A STORM OF LIGHT / NADJA - Primitive North 2x12"+CD split. The first press for this thing was a total blowout, so we've re-pressed it with the quickness in attempts to keep it available. Two new color vinyl combinations are available for this beast of a release, this time as "Aurora Forge" and "Phosphorescence". Maybe corny names (?) but it compliments the weird colored vinyl well, and we're equally pleased with how the re-press turned out as we are with the first press. This comes with a CD of the same jams, and is housed in some pretty fancypants packaging.

Related to that is the fact that we got some super rare CDs direct from Josh Graham of A STORM OF LIGHT and formerly of RED SPAROWES. This includes the self-released very first RED SPAROWES demo CD-R, and their limited live CD that Neurot released. Along with those (which WILL go fast) is the hard-to-find (FALLEN) BLACK DEER Latitudes CD release that Southern organized a couple years back. Hardly any distros got that thing and we scored some copies direct from the band.

Along with all that crazyness above, we've also received a healthy amount of new and re-stocked items for this massive first Online Store update from our bi-coastal locations! GO!

VERSE EN COMA "Rialto" Release Date Set, New Track Posted

Somewhere between the present day and unfortunate endings of PG.99, CITY OF CATERPILLAR and MALADY, a "lost" recording was created but shelved for several years. Five dynamic tracks that collided with both artistic and industry red tape comprise the VERSE EN COMA debut release, "Rialto". Finally though the dust has settled, the hurdles have all been jumped and "Rialto" will finally see the light of day as a dual-format 10"+CD release through Robotic Empire.

VERSE EN COMA was formed by the songwriting backbone of MALADY (Jeff Kane, Kevin Longendyke, Jonathan Moore) and joined by DARKEST HOUR/CITY OF CATERPILLAR drummer (Ryan Parrish) and multi-talented vocalist Brian Markham. Most of the songs were written towards the end of MALADY but re-vamped and enhanced with the joining of Parrish and Markham to the group. The results are an impressive and varied recording, which was engineered and executed by the band themselves over a several-year period.

A newly mastered track from "Rialto" can now be heard online through the band's myspace page:

http://www.myspace.com/VerseEnComa

Addressing the delays, quote Moore: "I can't wait for it to come out. Thanks for all your patience and I hope we turn a few heads with this one."

Although there will not be pre-orders for this release, the VERSE EN COMA's debut 10"+CD "Rialto" will be available August 12th, 2008.

ROBOTIC EMPIRE - Online Store Relaunch! New releases & more!

Literally years in the making, this project has been the beast that almost slayed us. Through a label HQ move, one web developer going in rehab, another falling in love, computers and servers crashing, a distribution change and more... the new Robotic Empire Online Store has gone through countless unimaginable hurdles. Seeming absolutely cursed at times, it's almost unbelievable to us that this thing is actually DONE.

But "done" is both sorta inaccurate and an understatement. Inaccurate in the sense that we're still only able to accept orders through PayPal (couldn't get the credit card system ironed out in time for launch), and an understatement in the sense that this Online Store is going to change our entire operation for the better. From your standpoint during ordering, it shouldn't be terribly different... from our standpoint, we'll be far more efficient than ever before... which in turn effects how quickly you get your orders!

Long story short, we're a bit overwhelmed and relieved to finally have this absolutely monstrous project finished and raise a toast to everyone who's helped make this possible.

All that being said, we encourage you to check out our new Robotic Empire Online Store and let us know what you think... especially if you're having any problems. We know there are still some bugs and we're working on a few things still, but if you can't check out or find some sort of major flaw, we do want to hear about it. A lot of testing has been done, but not on every platform or in every different browser imaginable... so please be patient while we iron out the final creases with our new Online Store!

We had full intention of launching this site with the new CAPSULE 12"+CD album Blue available for the first time, but unfortunately we've hit a monstrous manufacturing snag with the CD part of the release so Blue is delayed another week or two at least. The problem with the release is a unique one (some CDs work, others don't) so we have to wait while the plant figures out exactly what the hell happened. Very frustrating, as this thing turned out beautifully (and leaked already) but we promise to have this available the moment it's finally, fully ready.

The ISIS Shades Of The Swarm 12xLP Box Set *should* be available for sale later this week, so keep an eye on our new site. Conspiracy has received their copies and the US parties (us and the band) have received samples that look absolutely amazing. Aaron Turner posted some photos of it on his blog if you want to get a sneak preview on this monstrous release. Keep an eye on our site (and for another announcement) for availability, and please do NOT write us about this. Thanks!

OK so upcoming releases aside, we do have some cool stuff available to celebrate the launch of our new Online Store. Since we started this label by releasing PG.99 records, and re-named it the same way (document #11 being the inaugural "Robotic Empire" release)... we figured it was only appropriate to have PG99 usher in our new webstore as well. We've re-pressed their landmark document #8 album on vinyl, and for the first time in years re-printed some classic and sought-after t-shirt designs.

The "girl with heart", "cow head", "family" and the 2-color "owl" t-shirt designs have all been re-printed, on Cygnus or American Apparel brand t-shirts (very comfy). This is the first time legitimate, band-sanctioned pageninetynine shirts have been printed since the band broke up and we're beyond stoked to finally make these available again. Click here for all available PG.99 t-shirts.

Another celebratory item we've made specifically for this launch is Robotic Empire Sweatpants! That's right, we made freakin' sweatpants of the "Blackmetal Sabbath" image... and we're giving them away! The first 20 people who order over $100 worth of stuff from our new Online Store are entitled to a free pair of sweatpants (if you actually want them). Because we only made 20 of these, we can't totally guarantee what sizes will be available, but if you order over $100 worth of stuff just add a note to your order during checkout (there is a "notes" box) letting us know what size you wear. These are available on a first come, first serve basis!

We've also added over 200 (!) new items and restocks to our site since the last update with the old store, including a mountain of new t-shirts. Here's the full list of all-new additions to our Online Store:

Along with all of the Online Store renovations, we finally have a somewhat functional website again ( www.roboticempire.com ). It's pretty stripped down to say the least, but the discography page is up to date and took forever to compile.

Major thanks are due to Josh Sisk of McCarthyism/Logjamming for working with us to make this new store possible... there's no way this would exist without him. His label has put a lot of earth-shattering jawns as well, we recommend you check them out here.

Thank you for reading through all of this, and for checking out our new Robotic Empire Online Store. Peace!

THREE new releases available now: KAYO DOT, PINK RAZORS, PAGENINETYNINE !!!

(Taken directly from our email newsletter)

Hello again everyone, this could be considered a bit overdue (and it is) but we have been traveling a lot lately, mostly on tour with thrash-merchants Municipal Waste, so apologies for delays. Enough of that though, let's get down to business because a lot is going on:

* New Releases *
KAYO DOT - Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue CD
This is not available to stores and distros until January 10th, but the band has just completed a 7-week tour with this massive album and we want to make it available to the general public ASAP because this thing is incredible. Five tracks spanning 60 minutes of some of the most interesting, unique and downright powerful music that the intelligent & extreme underground music worlds have seen in years. We always hype things up, yes, but this deserves the praise and much, much more. Click here for more descriptive info, MP3s, and/or to order:

PINK RAZORS - Waiting To Wash Up CD
Again, not available to stores and distros until January 10th but we wanted you to have access to this blistering album ASAP! It's 15 tracks of furiously catchy punk rock all in roughly 22 minutes, so as you can tell, not a single song breaks the two-minute mark. Incredible songwriting, incredible hooks, incredible lyrics... you might go as far as calling this debut album "incredible". But don't just take our word for it, click here to listen to MP3s, read our snazzy description and/or order this badass jam:

PAGENINETYNINE - Document #8 (reissue) CD and limited LP
The coffin is still firmly nailed shut, but that didn't stop us, or the band, or engineer Kurt Ballou (from some little band called Convey or something) from diving head-first back into the original reels and fully re-mix and re-master this baby from the ground up. The drums sound way better, the basses can actually be heard instead of just felt and other elements have been toned up as well. However, this wasn't done for people who already own the album... honestly, it doesn't sound THAT different (just, better) but it was done for all those who don't yet have this essential album... considered by many to be the band's best release. We went all out on this one too, the CD version is housed in a beautiful deluxe digipak with expanded 16-page booklet, and the LP version comes in a hand-screened cover with a variety of limited colors available. A more formal description, MP3 and ordering info can be found here:
http://www.roboticempire.com/record.php?id=591

(The PG.99 vinyl will probably go pretty dern fast, but we will have vinyl versions of the KAYO DOT and PINK RAZORS albums in the coming months as well)

As you might've noticed, some of our older releases are in there as well. Well we just cleaned our office and found a few copies of some random stuff (Robotic Empire Sampler #1, A Life Once Lost - Open Your Mouth For The Speechless CD reissue) so if you want them and/or any of the rest of this burly music, we highly implore you to head on over to our Online Store and order away... because the holidays are coming and we're going to stop processing orders on the 20th (or so) so we can go visit family and all that. So that gives you roughly two weeks to stock up on obscure independent music to blast in front of the 'rents, thus ruining Christmas. Or not, we don't know what holidays our customers may or may not celebrate. We don't think much about demographics and don't even really consider you "customers" anyway... more like rabid music fans like us, and that's why we try to keep our prices cheap (remember, all those prices listed above are US Media Mail postage paid [by us! ]). But look, now Robotic Empire is rambling and it's more important that we not waste any more of your time. That being said, you can also un-subscribe to this list (or order killer music) on the front page of our Online Store:

* Tours *
But wait, there's more! TORCHE is back on the road again after just catching their breath following their full US tour with the massive groups KYLESA and COLISEUM. These guys just don't know how to slow down, already having recorded the better half of a brand new album! That's right folks, start salivating now because come Spring or Summer we are going to have TORCHE's next record in your hands. And don't it beat all, but the new material is simply INCREDIBLE! Spring or Summer... that sure sounds great right about now... but until then the only way you can hear these unbelievably awesome new jams is to catch them live:
