Robotic Empire September Update - Alphabet Sale Continues!

First off, a big thank you to everyone who sent some rain our way the other week when we desperately needed it! The day following the Robotic update we had 2 lovely days of steady, soaking rain, a day of clear skies and another full day of rain. The forest fires in our area are being tamed and we no longer have ash falling from the sky. Hooray! Ya'll rule, thanks for your thoughts, and we can't be more grateful to all the firefighters out there doing an intense job of keeping people and their homes safe! We have much to be thankful for!

Well the Grateful Dead Misfits shirts are practically sold out and folks have been picking up the new Wrong Threads along with our new Robotic Empire Shirt. Glad we could provide everyone with some rad clothing for the upcoming fall season and if you haven't checked out those new designs yet, get on it!

This week we have a hardy little update for you with some vinyl that traveled all the way from Germany. A double LP from Olympia's BROKEN WATER, the FUNERARY album on Vendetta and a recent WHITEHORSE album. A solid package arrived from Gilead Media that included the new FALSE record, PALE CHALICE and some other wonderful goodies. Apologies are required because we suddenly realized we launched the new CLOUD RAT-Qliphoth album the previous week but an oversight on our part caused the album to be unavailable for purchase on the site. That's been fixed so if you're interested in checking out that new one please head on over to the Robotic Empire Online Store . Last but not least, we've got a great selection of BASTARD NOISE / MAN IS THE BASTARD albums in the store now thanks to Deep Six records. We'll be excited to talk more about Robotic Empire's collaboration with Eric Wood soon!

As promised, we're continuing the Alphabet Sale with some great music from the D-H sections of our distro shelves. You can find those and all other sale items here: Sales! Please check the full lists below for everything we've mentioned above. Thanks everyone and have a great September season.

Lot's of heavy hitters for the update that will close out the month of August. There's a new 8" split from Ampere and Raein! We've picked up more releases from Coliseum and are stoked to have some Creepoid albums in the store finally. Be sure to give a listen to some of the Dullest Records releases we have in stock at the moment, they have some good prices on quality 2x12"s. Glance through the mega restocks from Deathwish Records too! All these can be found in the Robotic Empire Online Store

On the T-Shirt front we are excited to have printed up some SHIRTS! for WRONG to support their upcoming September tour! Make sure you get out to see these fellows or have some royal regrets... If you missed out on the killer Grateful Dead / Misfits mind meld shirts we scored last year here's your chance to grab one now. Limited quantities on these dark grey versions and we're pretty sure this is the last time you'll see them in the shop.

Do you like sexy lady silhouettes? What if that sexy lady is brandishing a spear? Well we're into it! That's why we've got a new Robotic Empire T-shirt sporting that exact image. Designed by your very own mailorder packer Josie, (who we wouldn't put it past to swing around a spear of her own) these come on grey shirts with a metallic gold ink. Don't miss out, these Robotic Empire shirts go quick and it's rare that we repeat the same design twice. Collector's items? Maybe!?!?

Oh yeah, and for anyone who still thinks Robotic Empire is based in Richmond, VA we'd like to clear the air and explain how that hasn't been the case for quite some time. Why are we even bringing this up? Well, to point out the fact that Robotic Empire Records is actually set up in the mountains of north east Washington state which is currently burning the hell up! Considering the killer update we have for you this week you best act fast if you see something you like, who the heck knows if it'll all go up in smoke this time next week. So get on it!

Torche sale? Fitting...

While we've been wondering if our straw house warehouse (yup we said STRAW) will incinerate this month we occupied ourselves with stuccoing, liming, painting, rearranging, and resetting up the warehouse. Anytime the warehouse gets organized we're sure to find some odds and ends and so we have! Check the Warehouse Finds list below and grab some goodies. To be even more crazy, we're going through the entire distro catalog and running what we'll call the Alphabet Sales from now into September and maybe even into October until we've gone from A to Z. Massive price drops on lots of good music. We just want to freshen things up and make more room so take advantage.

Phew, aren't ya'll lucky....

Introducing WRONG and TERMINAL FUZZ TERROR with vinyl & download preorders!

Things have finally calmed down here at Robo HQ after the insane activity from several ISIS vinyl reissues. Happy to haveOceanic, Panopticon and In The Absence Of Truth out there and reasonably widespread again, we're now ready to introduce you to two new bands joining the Robo roster by launching two new preorders!

TERMINAL FUZZ TERROR are a Seattle-based band consisting of D. Rodriguez (guitar, vocals), D. Nelson (guitar, vocals), A. Crawshaw (drums) and J. Kleine (bass). Drummer Crawshaw also runs the Seattle based screen printing monolith Broken Press, who screened all printwork for TFT's hand assembled, limited release. Their vinyl debut, Vol 0: In The Shadow Of The Mountain, was recorded at Witch Ape Studio, engineered and mixed by Tad Doyle (of TAD) and mastered by James Plotkin.

TFT unleash a raw fury of rock n' roll drifted through the filters of punk, psychedelia and blues. Pummeling percussion and wailing riffs accompany a vocal delivery that channels an obliterated Jim Morrison at the height of religious revelry! The magnanimous 17-minute title track B-side closes out Vol 0: In The Shadow Of The Mountain with a long form, slow burning mind melter. You can sample for yourself by previewing "Megalodon" now via The Obelisk.

Housed in a silk screened jacket limited to 300 copies, this is a thing of beauty and includes a high-quality digital download, massive poster and insert. 50 special deluxe versions of the record include an embroidered 4" round patch and come packaged in a screen printed tote bag (a very limited amount are available for mailorder from us).

We've also got some badass t-shirts for TFT, printed on cozy ass Anvil Ringspun shirts - hit that up too for some new digs.

Available on March 3rd, Vol 0: In The Shadow Of The Mountain pre-orders are up now and expected to ship around Feb. 27th.

* VINYL pre-orders via Robotic Empire's Online Store

* DOWNLOAD pre-orders via iTunes or Bandcamp

On the other side of the heavy spectrum, for the folks who've been wondering what the CAPSULE dudes have been up to, we're beyond stoked to introduce you to WRONG!

Comprised of Eric Hernandez on guitars / vocals, brother Brian Hernandez on drums, Andres Ascanio on the bass and Ryan Haft on guitars, Miami, Florida's WRONG debut with an absolutely pummeling four-track EP titled Stop Giving. With an emphasis on bludgeon and groove, it's hard not to compare their first recordings to heyday-era HELMET; but WRONG deliver their own dissonance, atmosphere and attitude in a massive combination of power and skill. An indication of things to come, Stop Giving preludes a full-length due on Robotic Empire later this year.

The Stop Giving EP vinyl plays at 45rpm, is limited to 300 copies, and comes in silk screened packaging with artwork by TORCHE's Rick Smith, printed at Seattle's Broken Press. Self-recorded and mixed in Summer 2014 at Pinecrust studios in Miami, FL by Ryan Haft, the EP was mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance. Including a high quality digital download, you can listen to "Call It" now on our Bandcamp page.
Vinyl is being assembled now and is set to begin shipping around Feb. 27th !

ISIS – "Panopticon" remastered 2xLP vinyl now available, plus distro items and restocks

It's been an absolutely berzerker holiday season, but no rest for the restless as we're STRAIGHT back into it #2015 style... into the beastmode, here we go:

ISIS (the band) vinyl repress madness continues with Panopticon now getting the royal treatment, remastered audio, revamped printwork and all! This is the first full-length we ever worked with the band on, almost 10-years ago to the date (!), and it feels great to have it in print and available all these years later.

This time around the ante has been upped with Mika Jussila of Finnvox Studios' brilliant audio remastering, who was also responsible for the recent Oceanic remastering as well (previously erroneously credited by us to James Plotkin, who also does great work).

Aaron Turner's iconic layout has also received a tune-up, with uncoated printed-innersleeves housed within a super high-gloss, tip-on heavyweight gatefold jacket.

2000 copies of this beautiful latest pressing were made: 200 on clear/translucent blue, 500 on clear/translucent orange and 1300 on black vinyl. Panopticon is in-house now and available to order from the Robotic Empire - Online Store.

In case you missed the memo(s), we also recently re-pressed ISIS classics Oceanic and In The Absence Of Truth, both as 2xLPs as well. All of these and much more is available now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store

Beyond all the ISIS represses and mailorder activity, we've also updated the Robo Store with some newer items and older restocks, including a few distributor returns of otherwise OOP items. Here's the full list:

ISIS “Oceanic” 2xLP re-mastered repress, and annual Crazy Holiday Sale

It’s crazy to think about, but the year is almost over. Everything ramps up surrounding the holidays, and we’re doing a mini “Black Friday” crazy holiday sale, with 30% off all orders $50 or more. This is the biggest blanket-discount we’ve ever done in the Robotic Empire - Online Store, so now is a great time to stock up on killer vinyl, shirts, CDs or whatever you and/or your loved ones are after this holiday season.

On that note, we are working through the entire month non-stop, so the “XMASPARTY” coupon code will hook ya up throughout the rest of the year. Just enter it during your checkout and you’re good to go.

We’re not giving a definitive “you must get orders in by X date to get stuff by Christmas” like we have in the past – so if you’re trying to get gift-orders in, try and do so ASAP as it’s very tricky to gauge/guarantee shipping times around this season.

This would be a good time to mention that we’re currently taking pre-orders for the new repress of ISIS‘ landmark opus, Oceanic. Probably the defining ISIS album now that it’s said and done, showcasing a band at the height of a monumental transition, “Oceanic” was/is hailed by many fans as ISIS’ landmark album, earned widespread critical acclaim and was even dubbed “seminal” by Drowned In Sound.
Raising the massive bridge between crushing metal and atmospheric post-rock, ISIS truly came into their own sound on this brilliant sophomore album. This stunning double LP is unquestionably one of ISIS’ pinnacle achievements getting the proper vinyl treatment it so utterly deserves.

2180 total copies were made of this new pressing of Oceanic: 200 on translucent light green, 500 on cream w/green splatter, 1480 on black.

Fully printed on reverse-board stock with “tip-on” style gatefold jackets and printed innersleeves, the audio for this new vinyl pressing was carefully remastered by sonic wizard James Plotkin. Explains drummer Aaron Harris, “The clarity that’s been revealed in these songs was surprising even to me. I’ve heard these songs probably thousands of times. When I listened to the remastered version of “Weight” it was like I was back in the studio recording the song. I also noticed a lot of new detail in Jeff’s bass guitar, and energy in the guitars. I know Oceanic is a favorite among fans, and I think this remaster will bring a new appreciation even to those who have heard it many times.”

This is available to pre-order now in the Robotic Empire Online Store, and is expected to ship around the first week of December.

Big ups & Happy Holidays!

New TILTS album, three MAN IS THE BASTARD / NOISE t-shirts, rad distro items and more!

We're thrilled to announce that the crowdfunded sophomore album from St. Louis' rock quartet TILTS is finally available on vinyl! Cuatro Hombres is 10 rippin tracks of rock and/or roll, with enough heavy spice added in to make it absolutely bombastic. A song premiere for "Touchdowns" happened via Noisey/Vice, and can be heard here.

Like the debut album (which was also re-pressed alongside this new LP), TILTS entirely self-recorded this beast, then had RVA engineer Ian Whalen (RAH BRAHS, TOMBS, LAMB OF GOD) mix the songs from there. James Plotkin has mastered the release specifically for vinyl, and separately for the included high quality digital-download card.

Both Cuatro Hombres and the self-titled debut LP sport woodcut cover art courtesy of Tom Huck, and are each available now in the Robotic Empire - Online Store.
* Listen to "Thomas Jefferson II" or "Touchdowns" from the Cuatro Hombres LP
* Listen to "Hot For Pizza" or "Mexiqo" from the Self-Titled LP
* Order the vinyl here!

Beyond that we've got a stack of new shirts from MAN IS THE BASTARD / BASTARD NOISE in house, officially Wood-sanctioned. The iconic SKULL is now available as a large black-and-grey on grey shirt, or maroon-and-yellow on orange shirt. For the stoic/bogan types, we're also scavenged art off the infamous CROSSED OUT split on Slap A Ham, for a classic white-on-black double-sided shirt.

* Grab MAN IS THE BASTARD / NOISE merch in the Robotic Empire - Online Store

Further on that classic black-n-white SKULL tip comes a left field one we scored a few of, the limited MISFITS X GRATEFUL DEAD "Steal Yr Skull" shirt. Printed on Gildan soft style shirts, these two other iconic skulls are merged where the Crimson Ghost finally rests within the Dead Head.

* Pick up the GRATEFUL DEAD x MISFITS shirt at the Robotic Empire - Online Store
