GHASTLY CITY SLEEP Announce Debut Album, Post Preview Track

Robotic Empire's latest addition to the roster, Brooklyn's GHASTLY CITY SLEEP have finished the recording for their eponymous debut, scheduled for release early this spring. Over four tracks (that span 30 minutes) GHASTLY CITY SLEEP combine the finest elements of shoegazer and ambiance along with an acute penchant for melody to create an absolutely stunning array of material. While two pieces nearly reach the six-minute mark and the other two eclipse nine, the whole offering flows with a smooth liquidity, creating one solidified, captivating body of work that easily becomes one of the most exciting and groundbreaking releases we've been a part of to date.

The four young men involved in GHASTLY CITY SLEEP don't keep to one instrument long, as the entire collective can be found playing everything from guitars, keys, various percussion and just about everything in between. The multitude of layers involved here are accompanied by a warm yet haunting array of vocals, all helping to produce this simply epic debut.

The group (with current and former members of CITY OF CATERPILLAR, GREGOR SAMSA and MAJORITY RULE) formed back in 2005 after transplanting from Richmond, VA but only just finished the recordings, completed via Alex Aldi at Gigantic Studios in NYC (ASOBI SEKSU, THE FALL, etc.). GHASTLY CITY SLEEP have posted a sample song, "Ice Creaks", (featuring Mia from KAYO DOT) for listeners to preview prior to the CD and LP releases come March 27th, 2007. Live performances are in the formative stages now, but in the meantime, "Ice Creaks" can be experienced here:
