Short and sweet: All large format vinyl (10", 11", 12", 2x12", etc) in the Robotic Empire - Online Store is at least $1.01 off until March 8th. Many many items are reduced significantly more, so please check out the site to see everything on sale. All CDs are in the same boat too (-$1.01 in price), so please pick something up if you can. SMALL VINYL SALE! +updates on Robotic Empire's cross-country move

As we get closer and closer to the Robotic Empire - Online Store's cross-country move in early April, we've slowed down the amount of new items we bring in to make the whole move easier on us. However, to keep things busy for us we've decided to run some serious sales in our Online Store, and for the next week all "small vinyl" is $1.01 off. This means 5", 6", 7", 8" and 9" releases that we carry are all $1.01 off. **(please order more than one item if you're gonna get some of this stuff so we don't totally lose our asses)**

In addition to this "small vinyl sale" we've also marked down all CD releases over $4.99 at least the same amount (sometimes more). Robotic Empire - Online Store updates (many discounts, WHOLESALE, etc.)

OK folks so despite a massive update a couple weeks back (where we announced finally gaining the ability to accept credit cards), for the next couple of months things are going to change a bit for the Robotic Empire - Online Store. This is because half of the Robo camp is moving to Olympia, Washington come April, while half is staying here in Richmond, Virginia.

Because of the upcoming move, we will slow down the acquiring of new distro items for the next couple of months, and start discounting some things we have a lot of. Many items of high quantities have already received price cuts, and can be found now in the "specials" section of our Online Store. This includes many of the Robotic Empire label releases, and a bunch of distro titles as well.

In further attempts to sell a bunch of stuff we have here instead of moving it to the other side of the country, WHOLESALE ORDERING is now available for almost everything listed on our site. While this does not include Robotic Empire label titles (which are exclusively distributed by Revolver), it does include EVERYTHING ELSE in our Online Store at wholesale pricing. This really only applies to folks who have their own store or distro, and more information can be found here.

Those are the main changes we're experiencing right now, which also may explain why our early-2009 label release schedule has been pretty slow. The A STORM OF LIGHT / NADJA - Primitive North 2x12"+CD is in production now, and if all goes smoothly should see a March 3rd release date. Assuming so, that will most likely be the last label release that gets the full mailorder treatment out of the Richmond HQ. A bunch of other killer label releases are in the pipeline, but most likely won't see the light until after the move.

When our southern brethren in THOU asked us if we wanted to handle the mailorder for their t-shirts, we didn't hesitate for a moment. They like to keep their merch as inexpensive as possible for folks, but still high quality items that are sweatshop free. Well folks, we've got one of the biggest updates yet for the Robotic Empire - Online Store for ya here. Not that we're dropping any hot new releases this time, but the sheer massive amount of new items and restocks we've acquired for this update is downright concerning. We've literally run out of space here (whoops!) as we've been gathering many of these items for months now.

More than a handful of the items listed below are unavailable elsewhere and/or otherwise sold out, so be sure to comb through the lists. Including a boatload of imports and colored vinyl, this is easily one of the most solid updates we've had in a long time.

Also, you may or may not have noticed that the Online Store currently looks kinda... bad? We're in the middle of re-vamping the whole thing, so it's "under construction" at the moment. This doesn't affect the ability to order, it just looks a little wonky and a few features (related items, "members of", etc) aren't visible at the moment. Please bare with us.

The flipside to that coin is that WE CAN NOW ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS! GODS & QUEENS booking US tour, need assistance

Brooklyn/Philadelphia trio GOD & QUEENS are gearing up for an early summer US tour, but quote guitarist/vocalist Jamie Getz who is booking the tour:

"Everyone I used to deal with in my peer group has moved up/on/out, and either is done with it altogether, or they are now working at Live Nation, totally out of touch with anything DIY, or they are the "talent buyers" at medium sized clubs."

This translates to the band needing help booking shows in your town. They will play your house/garage/basement/club/bar/restaurant/gallery/whatever. Here is their proposed itinerary:

ROBOTIC OBSCURITIES launched - rare/unreleased/demo/live MP3s, videos, etc!

After being a record label for nearly 10 years, Robotic Empire has accumulated a lot of obscure, rare, demo, live and/or otherwise unreleased or hard-to-find audio. This mostly pertains to the bands and artists we've worked with over the years, and now we've set up a site to share some of these rarities with everyone, free of charge.

ROBOTIC OBSCURITIES is what we're calling it; a blog with detailed postings surrounding some of the projects we've been a part of over the years. You can check it out here:

A STORM OF LIGHT posts new track, announces NADJA collaboration

Brooklyn's A STORM OF LIGHT have posted the new song "Sister" off their forthcoming 2xLP+CD collaboration with Toronto's NADJA. This track can now be found exclusively at A STORM OF LIGHT's myspace page:

The release, titled Primitive North, features two new songs from A STORM OF LIGHT and one lengthy new opus from NADJA. The double vinyl LPs and CD will be packaged together, and also features each band remixing the other's material. Primitive North will see a March 3rd, 2009 street date through Robotic Empire.

We are so proud of our dudes that we dedicated an entire blog entry to this momentous occasion. We're knocking off three bucks from the asking price for the LP until the end of the year as a little encouragement to the folks who haven't picked up the deluxe vinyl edition yet.
