CANNABIS CORPSE announce live dates, vinyl LP updates!!

In celebration of the release of CANNABIS CORPSE's sophomore effort "Tube of the Resinated", the Richmond-based death metal outfit is excited to announce two live appearances:

The June 3rd show will be the formal record release show for "Tube of the Resinated", which is now available on CD from Forcefield Records. The vinyl edition will finally be available June 5th from Robotic Empire and features a never-before-made variation of vinyl, with a laser-etched pot leaf image inserted directly into the vinyl. Pirates Press - Record Of The Week!

Pirates Press, the manufacturer who pressed "Tube of the Reisnated" had the following to say: "NOBODY HAS EVER SEEN OR MADE A RECORD LIKE THIS... a stellar all around package... four different colors of vinyl to choose from [and] the stoney-ist poster/insert we've ever printed".

Everyone involved with this project is very excited about the results and cannot wait to unleash this upon the world. Appropriately, an additional preview track from the album titled "Every Bud Smoken" was recently posted on the band's myspace page:

VERSE EN COMA "Rialto" Release Date Set, New Track Posted

Somewhere between the present day and unfortunate endings of PG.99, CITY OF CATERPILLAR and MALADY, a "lost" recording was created but shelved for several years. Five dynamic tracks that collided with both artistic and industry red tape comprise the VERSE EN COMA debut release, "Rialto". Finally though the dust has settled, the hurdles have all been jumped and "Rialto" will finally see the light of day as a dual-format 10"+CD release through Robotic Empire.

VERSE EN COMA was formed by the songwriting backbone of MALADY (Jeff Kane, Kevin Longendyke, Jonathan Moore) and joined by DARKEST HOUR/CITY OF CATERPILLAR drummer (Ryan Parrish) and multi-talented vocalist Brian Markham. Most of the songs were written towards the end of MALADY but re-vamped and enhanced with the joining of Parrish and Markham to the group. The results are an impressive and varied recording, which was engineered and executed by the band themselves over a several-year period.

Addressing the delays, quote Moore: "I can't wait for it to come out. Thanks for all your patience and I hope we turn a few heads with this one."

Although there will not be pre-orders for this release, the VERSE EN COMA's debut 10"+CD "Rialto" will be available August 12th, 2008.

New TORCHE t-shirt, limited edition Robotic Empire shirt, colored vinyl and more!

The third installment of our Robotic Empire Limited T-Shirt Series is now available and we're pretty stoked on how this one tuned out. Like the others before it, this comes on an American Apparel brand shirt so its hella comfortable, and also like the others before it, is limited to a one-time run of 50 shirts and features 2 colors of ink. Black and grey are found on this dark "ash" grey t-shirt with woodcut artwork of an old man (probably a wizard) playing a harp in a blacksmith shop or something. Metalheads take note: this two color t-shirt is fairly gloomy, and majorly grim. A somewhat larger photo of this can be seen here. These look killer in person, and the photos don’t really do this justice!

While on the subject of clothing, we also re-printed a sweet TORCHE t-shirt that was originally printed as a pre-order only edition when In Return first came out. This John Baizley designed shirt was only available online for a week or so, and the band then printed a run for tour... but now that Meanderthal is out (on CD), they stopped printing these in favor of new designs. We also used the same printer the band prefers down in south Florida so the print is large and the quality of this is top notch! For everyone wondering, both the CANNABIS CORPSE and TORCHE vinyl are still in production... but we hope to have Tube of the Resinated in by the end of the month, with Meanderthal hopefully following shortly. New posts will be made when these are ready as there aren't going to be pre-orders. Robotic Empire - Online Store

ROBOTIC EMPIRE - Online Store Updates (new shirts, limited vinyl, cassettes, CDs and.. sweatpants?!)

Hello again, we have a fairly sizeable Robotic Empire Online Store update for you here... including new limited vinyl, cassettes, CDs and garments galore! As previously mentioned, we have a limited t-shirt series going on for what we hope will be the rest of the year (a new design each month) and in April we have the new "logoswirl" design. We probably should've called it "robotrippin"... but we're not quite that clever. Here's a mockup of this design:


What's cool about this one is that every single shirt is completely unique, as they were made on these super-comfortable American Apparel "acid wash" brand t-shirts... and we had our guys at Mammoth Printshop do some hands-on swirly stuff with the ink as well. So yeah, each one is a one-of-a-kind and this design is limited to a 1-time press of just 50 shirts. Insanely comfortable too, we're really, really pumped on how this one turned out.

To continue the ridiculous Robowardrobe, we've thrown all unclaimed "Blackmetal Sabbath" sweatpants up on our site, which we only made 20 of. This was a promotional item we made for the re-launch of our webstore a couple months back and for whatever reasons a few pair went unclaimed. This is the first (and probably last) chance to stock up on sweet Robo-sweatpants, as we probably won't remake these either.

CAPSULE "Blue" 12"+CD (together) OUT NOW!! +online store additions

A long, long time coming, we are thrilled (and relieved) to finally announce that CAPSULE's debut album Blue is now available through the Robotic Empire Online Store! One of the weirdest/craziest/perplexing albums we've heard in years, CAPSULE are seriously playing some of the most fucked up hardcore out there. There was a very frustrating problem with the manufacturing of the CD portion of this 12"+CD combo that resulted in over a month's delay with this release... but new CDs have been pressed and this beast is finally available! Here's what we wrote about this mindboggling debut:

Wrapping one's head around what exactly CAPSULE is doing on their debut album Blue is damn-near impossible, as these three post-ADD maniacs have created one of the strangest heavy-music albums in years. This is a confounding conglomeration of blasting time-signatures, galloping punk spirit and a ghostly vocal chorus that buzzes through a mountain of guitar and bass. No other band sounds like Miami's trio CAPSULE, just as CAPSULE sounds like no other band.

Blurry, buried shouts in unison are surrounded by absolutely thunderous songs, played at speeds with every tempo in the "punk" and "metal" spectrums. Intricate melodies in bizarre tunings sneak their way into an overall unnerving amalgamation of genres, creating an anxiety-filled album of fevered beauty. Of course, this is coming from a label who writes release descriptions typically loaded with hyperbole, but we still say with full confidence that this is one of the most unique and interesting albums Robotic Empire has released to date.

Attempting to keep up with the packaging precedence set by Miami brethren TORCHE's "In Return" 10"+CD release, CAPSULE's Blue only comes as two formats together, with a deluxe gatefold jacket housing both a CD and 12" vinyl record. A high-gloss spot varnish accompanies this full color, die-cut gatefold jacket with printed black interior. The minimalistic design perfectly contrasts CAPSULE's varied creations on this simply stunning debut.

ROBOTIC EMPIRE ONLINE STORE: March Update #1 (new t-shirt series, limited vinyl, etc, etc)

So we figured our logo / name wasn't on enough crap yet, and thus: the ROBOTIC EMPIRE LIMITED T-SHIRT SERIES is born. We're making 50 t-shirts a month for the rest of the year (10 designs for 2008) that will be limited to a one-time printing. Once these 50 go, that's it for good. They're all being printed on fancypants American Apparel brand t-shirts so they're maximum comfortable and you'll actually want to wear em. Avaiable sizes are extra small (aka, youth large) up through double extra large, all in varying quantities. Enough talking, here's the March shirt design:


It's titled "goodbye america", has the label name snuck in there non-abrasively, and turned out pretty damn sweet (a photo of it can be seen here). Sorta akin to the old "love virginia" design, which we also just re-printed due to mild demand and our endless love for this state.
