CAPSULE tape + BRAINWORMS demo + massive Online Store updates!!

Today is a good day. Not only have we put in a massive order for lots of new t-shirts, we also received some killer new releases both for the label and close friends. We're most excited to present the first release in our new cassette series from Florida's powerhouse trio CAPSULE! This thing turned out incredible, with three newly recorded tracks on side A and their entire seven song demo on the B side; it's roughly 25 minutes of furious jams! The new material is especially incredible and this serves as a fine prelude to their upcoming album we'll be releasing later on this summer.

In the meantime, a mere 200 of these were made, all with white ink on blue cassettes and a full color 4" x 9" j-card insert. All in all, we couldn't really be happier with how our first cassette release turned out and can't wait for you to see/hear this thing yourself! The band has them on the road with them (they leave tomorrow (!), here are the dates) and we're selling them for $6 postage paid in the US right now in our Online Store.

For those who haven't yet heard the glories that are CAPSULE, this trio is comprised of three dudes who have done time in Tyranny Of Shaw and Tunes For Bears, but take it to the next level with a triple-vocal yelled/sung assault over blistering tunes with monstrously heavy tunage. It's really quite unique stuff and is hard to directly compare to anyone else out there, so we highly encourage you to check out some sample MP3s either here or here.





The other main addition of note is the self-released demo CD-R by Richmond's own BRAINWORMS. These dudes are comprised of former and current Stop It, Ultra Dolphins and Are You Fucking Serious members, and seriously bring some style and intensity back into the mix. This seven track band-made CD-R has a massive and immaculate hand-made booklet with photos and lyrics, and was all recorded live in the studio (at what turned into an impromptu show), so all of the passion and force shines right through. Comparisons to Rites of Spring and Fugazi are probably inevitable, but they definitely take that early/mid-90's post/hardcore/indie style to the next level.

We're selling this massive thing for $7 postage paid, but if they're coming through your town please pick it up directly from them, as we only have a limited amount! ! So we've toured with MUNICIPAL WASTE a lot over the past couple years and have BARONESS' John Baizley doing a series of T-Shirts for the label, so it's only natural that this pairing finally happened! Robotic Empire is proud to announce an exclusive, brand new T-Shirt design for Municipal Waste's neo-classic tune "The Thrashin' of The Christ" from their latest Hazardous Mutation album on Earache. Yes, they are obviously still an Earache band but it doesn't mean the band isn't making some seriously cool merch, and we're stoked to have this design available for you.

Miami's CAPSULE touring February/March!!

Miami, FL's newest addition to the Robotic Empire roster, the trio known only as CAPSULE, will be hitting the road this week as a warm-up for the recording of their debut album for the label. Two GRAILS limited LPs now available!!

Robotic Empire is proud, excited and honored to announce that the two full-length albums by Portland's instrumental prodigies GRAILS are now both available on vinyl from our record label. We made 1000 copies of each of these incredible albums, with 700 of each to be made available through stores come March 28th. In the meantime, we are now offering the limited colored vinyl of each LP directly from us for $12ppd (in the USA). These are both now available in our Online Store.

For those unfamiliar with this simply glorious group, we feel that they are one of instrumental music's most serene, fascinating and beautifully complex acts. Guitars, pianos, strings, drums and much more are utilized to merge somber melodies with building waves of emotion, all sans vocals. It's downright powerful stuff, and all done with unique songwriting, surprising twists and an overall haunting feeling that is hard to shake, even after multiple listens. Now to the grit of vinyl's limited nature: the limited color quantities. We ordered 200 of each album on colored vinyl, but they turned out a little different than we hoped. We requested a more "smokey" transition between black and the translucent color (green for The Burden of Hope and red for Redlight) but instead we got more of a "splatter" effect, which is still pretty killer (as you can see by the detailed photos below). The band got some copies, so we have 150 of each for our mailorder purposes. Most of our vinyl stuff doesn't stick around too long, so we're encouraging you to get on the ball with ordering this jam, as not only did the artwork translate beautifully to the large vinyl format, but this music is pretty much mandatory if you like progressive and/or interesting stuff. For your reference purposes, we licensed these beasts from Neurot Recordings, one of independent music's leading innovators responsible for such acts as Neurosis, Isis, Made Out Of Babies, Red Sparowes and many more,

These two limited vinyl releases are also the prelude to the upcoming split LP between Grails and Red Sparowes, but we will inform you of that's release when it comes closer to fruition. KAYO DOT return to the road, release new album

Boston's "avant-metal" octet KAYO DOT return to the road this January, hot on the heels of a seven-week, full-US tour this past fall. A shorter journey this time, the band will be on the road a lot this year in support of their sophomore album, "Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue" (Robotic Empire). ULTRA DOLPHINS Tour Europe, Release Collections Album

Richmond/Philly/NY's vagabonds ULTRA DOLPHINS recently embarked on their first European tour alongside their close pals WOW OWLS. December 26th - January 15th is safely seeing them travel all around mainland Europe, delivering their patented, unique blend of post-hardcore, math rock, indie, chaotic hardcore and far more. Upon the return to the states, the band will finish the final stages of mixing their upcoming debut album for Robotic Empire, simply entitled "Mar".

This, the band's first full-length, has been recorded over several months at Richmond's fine Recorditorium studio with engineer Jason Laferrera (Stop It!!, Gregor Samsa, VCR, etc). A plethora of tracks will be included on this fierce debut, which will see a release mid-2006. Until then, the band has compiled six older tracks from two limited EP releases for the "Why Are You Laugh" collections disc on Robotic Empire. This intense 24-minute CD will hit the streets March 14th, but both the band and label have them available now, on tour and through Robotic Empire's Online Store, respectively. A newly re-mastered MP3 from the collections disc has been posted at the following locations:

Hello again everyone, this could be considered a bit overdue (and it is) but we have been traveling a lot lately, mostly on tour with thrash-merchants Municipal Waste, so apologies for delays. Enough of that though, let's get down to business because a lot is going on:

* New Releases *
KAYO DOT - Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue CD
This is not available to stores and distros until January 10th, but the band has just completed a 7-week tour with this massive album and we want to make it available to the general public ASAP because this thing is incredible. Five tracks spanning 60 minutes of some of the most interesting, unique and downright powerful music that the intelligent & extreme underground music worlds have seen in years. PINK RAZORS - Waiting To Wash Up CD
Again, not available to stores and distros until January 10th but we wanted you to have access to this blistering album ASAP! It's 15 tracks of furiously catchy punk rock all in roughly 22 minutes, so as you can tell, not a single song breaks the two-minute mark. Incredible songwriting, incredible hooks, incredible lyrics... you might go as far as calling this debut album "incredible". PAGENINETYNINE - Document #8 (reissue) CD and limited LP
The coffin is still firmly nailed shut, but that didn't stop us, or the band, or engineer Kurt Ballou (from some little band called Convey or something) from diving head-first back into the original reels and fully re-mix and re-master this baby from the ground up. The drums sound way better, the basses can actually be heard instead of just felt and other elements have been toned up as well. However, this wasn't done for people who already own the album... honestly, it doesn't sound THAT different (just, better) but it was done for all those who don't yet have this essential album... considered by many to be the band's best release. We went all out on this one too, the CD version is housed in a beautiful deluxe digipak with expanded 16-page booklet, and the LP version comes in a hand-screened cover with a variety of limited colors available. As you might've noticed, some of our older releases are in there as well. Well we just cleaned our office and found a few copies of some random stuff (Robotic Empire Sampler #1, A Life Once Lost - Open Your Mouth For The Speechless CD reissue) so if you want them and/or any of the rest of this burly music, we highly implore you to head on over to our Online Store and order away... because the holidays are coming and we're going to stop processing orders on the 20th (or so) so we can go visit family and all that. So that gives you roughly two weeks to stock up on obscure independent music to blast in front of the 'rents, thus ruining Christmas. Or not, we don't know what holidays our customers may or may not celebrate. We don't think much about demographics and don't even really consider you "customers" anyway... more like rabid music fans like us, and that's why we try to keep our prices cheap (remember, all those prices listed above are US Media Mail postage paid [by us! ]).
